Can you tell me how to get a poker bot, and if it is worth my trouble?

I think i played against one today. I beat it but it did manage to place in a multi-table tourament. I can’t be sure it was not just the most disciplined player i’ve ever come up against (made some really wierd folds though), but it felt wrong. Got me thinking that it might be a good way to make some cash. What do you think?
I think it is a horrible idea.
Do you really want to leave your bankroll in the hands of a computer program, and hope it is able to play better than you?
Unlike you a computer program doesn’t ‘care’ if it wins or loses, it does plays the game. It doesn’t ‘care’ that your hard earned money is on the line.
So as well as the danger that the program can be outwitted or beaten, and could even malfunction and donk off your bankroll, you have to also consider they are illegal.
While you would not be prosecuted for using one, if the poker sites finds that you are, they will freeze your account and you risk being fined or never getting your money back.

Very nice answer ZCT. Additionally, the complexity required to program a "bot" to play for you is mind-boggling. Sure you could program starting hands, position play, and even blind steals pretty well, but that wouldn’t be near enough to make it profitable. Even at limit poker. And, the idea of surviving a 5-6 hour MTT and making the final table with a "bot" only, is ludicrous. Couldn’t be done.

There you go. I don’t use them myself. Most online players use the poker helper software to improve their gameplay and its legal to use. Poker trackers are always good.
